Australian Camps Association

The Portsea Camp is accredited by the Australian Camps Association. It has been assessed by an independent person to have met 23 requirements and over 75 checklist items in the areas:

• Health, hygiene and safety
• Buildings and facilities
• Activity equipment and the conduct of activities
• Business administration
• Emergency procedures
• Participant supervision
• Quality assurance and consumer protection

Australian Council for Child and Youth Organisations

The Portsea Camp is accredited by the Australian Council for Child and Youth Organisations. The Portsea Camp has built a child safe organization – we:

• Understand child abuse
• Manage risks to minimize child abuse
• Have a child protection policy
• Have clear boundaries and a code of conduct
• Recruit, screen and select staff with due diligence
• Provide staff support and supervision
• Respond to complaints and manage crises
• Empower children and young people

Duke of edinburgh award
The Portsea Camp is a member of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Young Australians seeking to gain their Duke of Ed. Award are welcome to undertake aspects of the Awards here
with us.
