Working Bee

Never underestimate what can be accomplished over one weekend!! Especially when it involves Portsea Camp volunteers. Once a year the Camp holds a working bee in early October. We provide meals and accommodation and you help with a range of projects.

The tasks for the weekend are established in advance and different groups will nominate which task they might want to work on. All materials are paid for by the Camp but we do request that service clubs consider making a contribution. Sometimes we are searching for a particular set of skills, but often we need more sets of hands. Let’s face it everyone can weed a garden and most of us are ok with a paint brush.

This year’s working bee is October 7th - 9th. We are going to focus on the Bayside Units and the cottage - both the buildings and garden area. As well, we hope to do some work on our abseiling tower if we can gather in the funds for timber.

Come and join the 100 plus people who attend, it’s a great weekend of fun and the reward as we all look over who has done what is fantastic.
