Volunteers
Children’s camp volunteers
Annually 400 people come as volunteers to our holiday camps as children’s counselors, recreation leaders and medical staff. These adults give up a week of their lives to care for children. They are incredibly selfless individuals. We must also acknowledge those who organise the children who attend camp. They come from all over; from country towns, and inner city. Often these people source funding for families who simply cannot afford a break for their child.
Working bee volunteers
Many selfless people assist at our annual working bee weekend which draws on all of the skills of the camp community. Service clubs are well represented and individuals also. Projects can range from decking, to painting, to gardening, to guttering and major structural changes. Accommodation and meals are provided. The transformation that occurs from the hard work of 100 people each year is nothing short of amazing. The weekend is made even more special thanks to the ‘Usual Suspects’ a 7 piece band who get everyone up dancing on the Saturday evening to great music and fine rock and soul classics. This event occurs annually in early October. Check the ‘news’ section for updates.
