Supporters
The Portsea Camp has been very fortunate to receive support from many different areas of the community. Some relationships are long established and others are newly formed, but without the support the Camp would simply cease to exist. Whilst some of our finances are drawn from hiring the Camp for general occupancy, there is always a shortfall related to the children’s holiday camps.
When we think of support we see this not in monetary terms, but in terms of people. The volunteers who annually sacrifice some of their paid leave, or the retiree who gives up their peace and quiet, or the student who chooses camp over a Uni break . Likewise there are no donations sent through from people with whom we are unfamiliar. Each piece of support is through someone who has listened to the stories of the Camp whether it be verbalized or written in a highly formal format. There is a valued relationship which has formed.
