These scholarships provide full or partial funding for kids who may not otherwise be able to attend\, thanks to a blend of business revenue\, community fundraising\, and family contributions. \nHow Scholarships Are Funded\nHere’s how we make it happen:\nBusiness Revenue:\nIncome from our school and community camp programs helps keep the camp running\, and any profit goes straight to funding camp spots for kids. \nFundraising and Donations:\nGenerous donations from fundraising events\, local supporters\, businesses\, and community champions play a major role in covering costs. \nFamily Co-Contribution:\nThe program is based on a “pay what you can” model. The more support a family needs\, the more we cover\, ensuring that funding is provided based on individual family circumstances. \nHow Many Scholarships We Can Award? \nThe number of fully and partially funded places we can offer each year depends on several factors\, including: \n1. How much profit The Portsea Camp School & Community camp business has made\, which can be returned to the charitable purpose of the organisation. \n2. How much we have raised through donations\, sponsorships\, and other fundraising efforts. \n3. The mix of family needs and resources available for each camp.\nScholarship Costs & Family Contributions. \nA week of camp normally costs $990 (inclusive of GST)\, but we automatically reduce this to $750 with a base subsidy of $240 funded by The Portsea Camp for every child attending one of our 5-day programs. From there\, families make a co-contribution based on the scholarship awarded: \n1. Full Scholarship:\nNo cost to the family\, thanks to donations and sponsors covering the full amount. \n2. Partial Scholarship:\n$100 family contribution\, with the rest covered by donations and sponsors. \n3. Sliding Scale Scholarship:\n$200 family contribution\, with the remaining balance funded by our generous donors and supporters. \n4. Full Fee Paying:\nFamilies who are not applying for a scholarship can choose to self-fund or use their NDIS/Active Kids Vouchers. Families who fully self-fund can register and pay directly through The Portsea Camp website. Payment plans are also available—contact our team for more information. \nCommunity Support Makes a Difference!\nRegional hubs across Victoria organise fundraising events to support local families. Funds raised in each region are used to help children from those communities attend camp. Make sure to include your postcode on the application form so we can direct support appropriately. \nYour time and detailed responses help us create a safe\, fun\, and inclusive environment for all campers. SUMMARY:POOL TO BEACH PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text text_lead=”yes” uncode_shortcode_id=”107702″] \n🌊 Pool to Beach – Family Water Safety Weekend\nFrom pool confidence to beach confidence. Together\, safely. \nFriday 6 November – Sunday 8 November 2026\nThe Pool to Beach Program is an immersive family weekend designed to help children and their parents/carers build the practical skills\, knowledge and confidence needed to enjoy our beaches and bays safely. \nSwimming at the beach is very different from swimming in a pool. Waves\, currents\, tides\, changing depths and unfamiliar conditions can present challenges – even for confident pool swimmers. Pool to Beach gives families the opportunity to experience these environments together\, supported by experienced instructors and lifesaving professionals. \nThis isn’t a camp where parents drop the kids off. \nFamilies attend\, stay\, learn and participate together. \nBy involving parents and carers alongside their children\, the learning continues long after the weekend is over – helping families make safer decisions whenever they return to the beach. \n🏖️ What You’ll Experience\nAcross the weekend\, families will take part in a range of practical\, engaging activities designed to build confidence and understanding in real beach and bay environments. \nActivities include:\n\n🌊 Understanding waves\, tides\, currents and rip currents\n🚩 Learning where and how to swim safely\n🛟 Practical surf lifesaving and emergency-response skills\n🤿 Snorkelling and building confidence in open water\n🛶 Guided kayaking in calm conditions\n🪨 Exploring rock pools\, coastal environments and marine life\n🏊 Understanding the important differences between pool and open-water swimming\n👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Learning and practising water-safety skills together as a family\n🔥 Family connection\, shared meals and relaxed camp activities\n\n💙 Why Pool to Beach?\nOur first Pool to Beach program showed us just how valuable this type of experience can be.\nParticipants demonstrated significant improvements in understanding rip currents\, identifying beach hazards\, knowing where and how to swim safely and responding to emergencies. Importantly\, they didn’t simply leave feeling more confident – they left with informed confidence\, grounded in practical knowledge and experience.\n100% of participants in our inaugural program rated their experience 5/5.\nFamilies told us they particularly valued learning together\, spending quality time with their children\, trying new experiences and connecting with other families. \n👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Is This Weekend For?\n\nPool to Beach is ideal for families who want to feel more knowledgeable and confident around Australia’s beaches and bays.\nIt may be particularly valuable for:\n\n\nFamilies whose children are confident in a pool but have limited experience in open water\nFamilies who want to better understand beach and ocean safety\nNew Australians and families who may be unfamiliar with Australian beach conditions\nParents and carers who want practical knowledge to help keep their children safe around the water\nFamilies who would simply like to build their skills and confidence together\nPool ability swimming required. No prior ocean experience is required.\nActivities are supportive and designed to allow participants to build confidence at their own pace. The program specifically encourages participation without forcing it\, with conditions assessed and participants supported according to confidence and ability.\n\n📅 Weekend Details\nDates: Friday 6 November – Sunday 8 November 2026\nDuration: Friday 4:30pm- Sunday 3pm\nLocation: The Portsea Camp\, 3704 Point Nepean Road\, Portsea\nCapacity: Strictly limited to 24 families \nTICKETS:\nAll family tickets include accommodation\, meals and the full Pool to Beach weekend program. \nFLEXIBLE FAMILY BOOKINGS\nFamily tickets are based on the total number of family members attending\, giving families flexibility in how they book.\nFor example\, a Family of 4 ticket can include\n1 adult + 3 children\n2 adults + 2 children\nThe same flexibility applies across all Family of 2\, Family of 3 and Family of 4 tickets. (Children under 5 attend free)\nFAMILY SCHOLARSHIP TICKETS\n12 tickets available\n$200 per family\nAvailable for families of 2–4 people\, regardless of the combination of parents/carers and children attending.\nThese subsidised tickets are available to help make the Pool to Beach experience accessible to more families.\nPlease complete a scholarship application via the link below ensuring that you include all family members and we will be in touch shortly after.\n \nAPPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP HERE\nEARLY BIRD FAMILY TICKETS\n\n8 tickets available\nFamily of 2 – $550\nFamily of 3 – $675\nFamily of 4 – $895\nEarly Bird tickets are strictly limited and are available until sold out. \nFULL FEE FAMILY TICKETS\n4 tickets available\nFamily of 2 – $580Family of 3 – $750Family of 4 – $995 \nFAMILIES OF MORE THAN 4\nFamilies with more than 4 people are welcome.\nAdditional family members can be added for $100 per person.\nFor example\, a family of 5 would purchase the appropriate Family of 4 ticket and add 1 additional family member for $100.\n*Children under 5 attend free \nWHAT’S INCLUDED?\n• Private ensuite Accommodation at The Portsea Camp• All meals throughout the weekend• Pool to Beach activities and experiences• A full weekend program for the whole family\n🛟 Safety & Parent/Carer Supervision\nSafety is at the heart of Pool to Beach.Water-based activities are led and supervised by experienced instructors and Portsea Surf Lifesaving professionals\, with activities adapted to participants’ confidence\, ability and the conditions on the day. Safety equipment and water-based activity gear are provided where required. As this is a family participation program\, parents and carers remain responsible for the supervision and care of their children throughout the weekend\, including outside scheduled activities.During facilitated water activities\, our team will provide activity instruction\, water-safety supervision and support; however\, parents/carers must remain actively engaged in supervising their own children at all times.\n🌟 More Than Water Safety\nPool to Beach is about much more than learning a set of rules.\nIt’s about families developing a shared understanding of the water\, recognising risks\, knowing when and how to ask for help\, trying new experiences together and creating positive memories along the way.\nOur inaugural program showed that families can build confidence without losing respect for the ocean – replacing uncertainty or overconfidence with knowledge\, practical experience and safer decision-making. \nFrom pool confidence to beach confidence. Together\, safely.\n🌊 Ready to join us?\nPlaces are strictly limited to 24 families\, including only 12 Scholarship places and 8 Early Bird places.\nBook your family’s Pool to Beach weekend today. \n\n📧 programs@theportseacamp.com.au\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Together\, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive at The Portsea Camp! 🙂 \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_button button_color=”accent” border_width=”0″ link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbook.venue.life%2Ftheportseacamp%2Fregister%2F4334-kids-adventure-holiday-camp-jan-1|target:_blank” button_color_type=”uncode-palette” uncode_shortcode_id=”153638″]APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP[/vc_button][/vc_column][/vc_row]
