Rotary

Rotary has a long relationship with the Portsea Camp. Many individual clubs contribute through organising and sponsoring children to holiday camps, sponsoring a specific project, or assisting in the up-keep of the site. Their involvement allows hundreds of children annually to attend camp. Perhaps the greatest contribution by Rotary has been the support given to the camp at the critical time of independence from the City of Melbourne, when funds were raised to replace boilers, build the new Medical Centre and replace much decrepit infrastructure. Between 1994 and 2008 over $400,000 was raised.

Bendigo Bank

In 2007 the Rye and District Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank approached the camp, offering assistance reducing the camp’s debt. An offer too good to be true, the camp’s debt liability has reduced significantly and by 2017 will be no more. It has been a pleasure working with a local bank that recognises and supports the camp’s work. We are extremely grateful to the Bendigo and proud of our association.

RSL – Victorian Branch

The Victorian Branch of the RSL has been a long-standing principal supporter of the camp, having supported children to attend camps almost every year since the camp’s inception. In the 2015/16 financial year the League supported 176 children to attend, a remarkable and praiseworthy effort.
