About the Project

The Sensory and Physical Regulation Trail at The Portsea Camp is an innovative initiative aimed at supporting children’s physical, sensory, and emotional regulation. Designed for children of all abilities, including those with special needs or trauma histories, the trail provides a safe, engaging space to explore nature and develop essential skills such as sensory processing, mindfulness, and resilience. Featuring a variety of self-paced sensory stations and physical challenges, the trail fosters emotional wellbeing and encourages children to build connections with their peers and the environment.

This project is part of The Portsea Camp’s mission to create inclusive, supportive experiences for children who face social or educational disadvantages. By providing a space where children can practice self-regulation and engage in sensory-rich activities, the trail will enable children to remain at camp and thrive, even when behavioral challenges arise.
