Please Note: All belongings should preferably have your child’s name on. Lost property is held for 3 weeks only, with lost items returned if you wish. Older clothing is fine, with perhaps one good outfit for discos
Here’s what to bring during your stay at The Portsea Camp
Sleeping
- Set of sheets and/or a sleeping bag (extras if your child wets the bed)
- In the colder months pack an extra blanket
- Pillow and Pillowcase
- Pyjamas
Clothing
- T-shirts (short/long sleeve for shoulder protection during the day, no singlets)
- Shorts, pants
- Warm Jumper
- Underwear and socks
- Bathers
- Sturdy shoes for activities
- Slip-on shoes or thongs to walk to the beach
Personal Items/Other
- 2 towels – beach and bath
- Toiletries – toothbrush & paste, hairbrush/comb, soap & shampoo, insect repellent (roll-on only), sunscreen & lip screen (30+)
- Medications and personal care items
- Plastic bag for any wet towels or bathers on departure day torch and spare batteries
- Book or card game
What Not to Bring to Camp
- Nuts or products containing nuts
- Drinks or lollies (except for a snack on the coach to camp)
- Pocket money
- Weapons or any sort
- Aerosol cans of any sort
- Matches or lighters
- Laser lights
Valuables
Best left at home. The Camp will not take responsibility for the loss or damage to any
valuable items, particularly jewellery, mobile phones, cameras and electronic devices.
Mobile phones and electronic devices
(If your child does bring a mobile phone or electronic device to camp, they will be asked to store it in the Camp’s safe for the duration of the Camp. If they refuse to hand the phone or electronic device in, you will be asked to come and collect your child. Children who need phones for medical reasons are of course exempt from this requirement).
