77% reduction in anxiety at home. That's what chi 77% reduction in anxiety at home. That's what children and families reported after just a few days at a Making a Difference program. We know a few days at camp aren't going to change everything. But moments like these can build on one another. Over time, those experiences can become part of something much bigger, creating lasting change in a child's life. It's one number from our 2025 Impact Report, but behind it is something much bigger: the opportunity for children to step outside their everyday environment, try new things, connect with others and experience what can happen when time outdoors and intentional wellbeing support come together.𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿.And this is why, for our 80th birthday, we're asking you not to buy us a present. It's our 80th. But it should be their present, and their future.Support their now by giving them something they can use and experience at camp.Or invest in their future by backing the long-term wellbeing frameworks, programs and relationships that help children build confidence, resilience, joy and connection, and carry those things with them long after they leave camp.Visit our Birthday Appeal or read our 2025 Impact Report via the link in our bio.80 Years of Changing Lives. Our 2025 Impact Report is officially LIVE! ✨ Behi Our 2025 Impact Report is officially LIVE! ✨Behind every number in this report is a real child, a real story, and a community that refuses to let financial barriers or life’s pressures dictate a child's future. In a world where childhood is increasingly filtered through screens and economic pressures are putting school camps out of reach for 1 in 2 Australian children, The Portsea Camp remains a sanctuary for tactile reality, joy, and belonging.Because of our incredible supporters, volunteers, and partners:
🔹 469 children participated in our Making a Difference (M.A.D) programs.
🔹 100% of placements subsidised, with $182 invested by us into every child to remove financial barriers
🔹 64% attended on full scholarships, removing 100% of financial barriers.
🔹 23,856 hours of dedicated care were logged by our 161 active volunteers. We can’t change everything a child goes home to. But we can help them return feeling more capable, more confident, and more able to shape what comes next.Read the full report today via our website 💛

Limited to only 24 families!! 🌊 From pool confide Limited to only 24 families!!🌊 From pool confidence to beach confidence. Together, safely.Being a confident pool swimmer doesn’t always mean feeling confident at the beach.Waves, currents, tides, changing depths and unfamiliar conditions can make the beach a very different environment. That’s why we’re bringing Pool to Beach back to The Portsea Camp, in partnership with Portsea Life Saving Club, for a family water-safety weekend from 6–8 November.Following the success of our first program in March, families will once again have the chance to learn and practise important water-safety skills together, including:🏊 Understanding the differences between pool and open-water swimming
🌊 Waves, tides, currents and rip currents
🛟 Practical surf lifesaving and emergency-response skills
🤿 Snorkelling and building confidence in open water
🛶 Kayaking and coastal exploration
🏖️ Learning where and how to swim safelyAnd importantly, this isn't a weekend where parents drop the kids off.Families stay, learn and participate together. Our first program showed just how valuable that can be, with 100% of participants rating their experience 5/5 and families telling us they particularly valued learning together, trying new things and spending quality time as a family.Places are strictly limited to 24 families, with limited Early Bird tickets available.📅 6–8 November 2026

A safe place is more than a safe space. This Natio A safe place is more than a safe space. This National Child Protection Week, we’re thinking about what it really means for children to feel safe, heard and supported. This year’s theme from @napcan_australia is 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. It’s a reminder that conversations about children’s safety matter, but what we do with those conversations matters even more. For children, safety starts with something as simple as knowing their voice matters. Having adults who listen. Having space to express what they think and feel. Being given opportunities to have a say in their experiences. This is where prevention becomes part of everyday practice. It looks like giving children genuine opportunities to participate, rather than simply expecting compliance. It looks like adults approaching children's behaviour with curiosity rather than judgement, and responding with acceptance and empathy. And it looks like creating the kinds of relationships where conversations happen naturally, not only when something is wrong.Child protection isn't something we should only talk about when there is a concern. It's about building a culture where children don't have to wait until something goes wrong to have a voice.Safeguarding isn't simply about adults protecting children; it’s about deliberately building environments in which children have voice, agency, rights and power of their own.Instead of asking ourselves what we can do with what children tell us, we already know the answer: we use it to keep them safe. That means laying the foundations so they don't have to wait until something goes wrong to have a voice. It leads us to ask:
𝗜𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁?When we lay the foundations for useful conversations every day, the big conversations come more easily to kids and less scarily to adults.
