We are thrilled to announce a new partnership that will significantly amplify our work and reach more young people across Victoria. We’ve officially partnered with TLC Healthcare, who have joined The Portsea Camp as a Platinum Sponsor with a generous commitment of $100,000 annually for the next three years.
This funding marks a pivotal moment for our flagship Making a Difference programs. Since 1946, these camps have provided immersive, multi-day outdoor adventures that have been instrumental in fostering self-discovery, personal growth, and wellbeing for young people facing disadvantage. With TLC Healthcare’s support, we will be able to expand our reach, welcoming over 100 additional young Victorians into these life-changing programs each year.
The need for this support has never been more urgent. Statistics show that one in four young Australians under 18 faces mental health challenges, and many live in circumstances of poverty or have experienced trauma. The impact of these challenges can be profound, affecting a child’s education, future potential, and overall wellbeing.
As our CEO, Sandra Martin, noted, this partnership is a “natural fit.” By collaborating with a leading healthcare provider, we can better address the clear link between physical and mental health. This shared value is at the core of our collaboration, ensuring we can provide holistic support to young people when they need it most.
TLC Healthcare’s CEO, Lou Pascuzzi, echoed this sentiment, stating that our efforts “align in building healthier, more inclusive communities where everyone has access to growth and support.” This long-term partnership ensures that we can continue to meet the growing demand for our services and invest in the futures of hundreds of children.
We extend our deepest gratitude to TLC Healthcare for their support. Their investment is not just in The Portsea Camp, but in the potential and future of Victoria’s young people. Together, we look forward to brightening the lives of many more children and giving them the tools and experiences they need to thrive.
